We need your support!

As Maine’s only nonprofit food business incubator and shared commercial kitchen space, we’ve seen firsthand the tremendous impact our work has had on the local economy and food landscape. Since our founding, we've nurtured 200 entrepreneurs, creating jobs and contributing millions of dollars to the Maine economy.

Fork Food Lab has become an essential part of Maine’s food ecosystem. We currently serve over 70 members; by 2025, our members will have created over 250 jobs and added $17 million to the Maine economy, including $3 million in local purchases of dairy, produce, meat, and grains!

We've expanded our facility to meet the growing demand, but we’re at an important crossroads. Despite our progress, including $2.6 million in grants and a successful expansion into a new space, we're currently only generating income from a small portion of our property, resulting in a gap in our funding that means we urgently need to raise funds to complete the buildout our vegetable & fruit processing space, additional private member spaces, and our flexible event space.

These projects are critical in supporting us to increase our monthly income to cover all our operating and debt expenses. The increase in interest rates and inflation in construction costs has been steep, and we must secure these funds within the next six months or we risk losing the momentum we've built and the positive impact we've made on our community.

Completing this buildout not only will secure Fork’s financial future, but means we will also be able to support even more food entrepreneurs, adding further value to Maine’s economy.

Supporting Fork Food Lab means investing in Maine’s future.

It means fostering innovation, supporting small businesses, and creating jobs. It means ensuring that our state’s food entrepreneurs continue to have a place to grow and thrive. We are calling on you, our community, to help us bridge this financial gap. Your support is crucial to completing our facility and securing Fork Food Lab's role as a vital hub in Maine's food industry.

Please consider making a donation to Fork Food Lab today. With your help, we can continue to nurture the next generation of Maine’s food entrepreneurs and strengthen our local economy. Every dollar brings us closer to our goal and ensures that Fork Food Lab remains an essential and accessible resource for our community.
